Encourage another bloke who doesn’t think he’s good enough
Over the past 4 years through Shed Happens, I’ve been privileged to encourage many men about manhood. But there have been times where I’ve needed encouragement to keep on going myself.
Two highly respected blokes gave me turbocharged empowering words when I needed them.
I could have been intimidated about sharing speaking duties at a camp with a highly qualified teacher. The first of these encouraging men said, ‘Just be yourself, Watto.’
The other encourager said to me before another event, ‘Don’t change anything. Just continue to be and speak out how God made you. That’s why men can listen to you, because it’s real and they respect you.’
Both these men have been my mentors at different times and I respect them very much.
What they said counted. What about you? Are you hearing that special word deep down in your heart that’s just for you? Or have you numbed yourself not to go there, and just half-hear it in your head?
There are many, many of these stories of blokes emerging out of the crap of the world to become champions. From time to time, someone in your life will give you a genuine turbocharged word. Hear it, and take it in. You are OK.
