Getting rid of the gunk

Sometimes you might think things are pretty tough and bad. You can stay there forever. Lots of blokes do.

I’m saying straight out: it’s not an excuse. Face up to the facts.

The Work Manual has this to say: ‘If you have sinned, you should tell each other what you have done. Then you can pray for one another and be healed. The prayer of an innocent person is powerful, and it can help a lot’ (James 5:16).

Spit it out to a trusted bloke. Tell him all your gunk, whether you think it’s your fault or someone else’s. Spill your guts so you can be healed, freed, and more-become the realdeal bloke you were created to be.

I’ve seen this work many times. If a bloke can open up and talk it through with a trusted bloke, most of the time he’ll sort it out. If he can speak it out loud and hear himself, he’ll usually come up with the right decision.

There are plenty of good blokes around, not far away from you. Is there someone that you know in your gut that you can trust? He will give you the encouragement you need, the nudge to just kickstart you to get rid of the gunk. If you don’t know anyone like that, think about joining a shed group or going to shednight.com.

Talking to a trusted bloke works. It works for me and countless other blokes I’ve spoken to over the years. It just works.
